Daniëlle van de Donk
We were invited to come over for an afternoon in Shenley, a quiet town somewhere north of London, where we met Daniëlle for a walk down the lovely neighborhood. We talked about the Orange Lionesses winning the European Cup in 2017 where she played a great part as the number 10. About her injury and about her career, how she started as a young player playing against boys, starting professionally at Willem II and ending up at Arsenal LFC. All this while walking the deserted area of Shenley. Isn’t it hard to keep yourself motivated in a place like this? For her it is the best place to keep the concentration and friends are always around. In towns nearby there is plenty to do and London is never far away. The upcoming FA cup final against the biggest rival Chelsea is ‘the next game’. “So it helps to have no distractions, we need to win this one!”
